The process of learning can take many forms. However, there are three main learning styles that can heavily influence the way in which you retain and recall information. Adapting to yours can make learning much easier. To help your child become a better student, continue reading to figure out their learning style and how you can adapt their study session to it.

How to Adapt to Your Child's Learning Style

If Your Child is a Visual Learner

As the name implies, visual learners understand information better through their sense of sight. This makes them particularly good at remembering faces, comprehending shapes, distinguishing colors, etc. For visual learners, focus on watching videos or drawing images about the lessons they need to study.

If Your Child is an Auditory Learner

Auditory learners excel when it comes to assimilating sounds. This is why they have a higher affinity for music and rhythm. Likewise, they are more likely to remember conversations than images or text. To study effectively with an auditory learner, create rhymes and, if possible, record their lectures so that they can listen back to them.

If Your Child is a Kinesthetic Learner

This final type of learner can understand information better when they can use their hands and/or body to digest it. They are usually very active people who don't do as well with theory and prefer practice. To assist your kinesthetic student, create games or experiments that relate to the information they need to learn.
